Our Clinicians

Beverley Gordon, M.Sc., MSW, M.A.

Beverley Gordon is a registered Social Worker with extensive training and experience in various counselling techniques. Beverley has a joint honours B.Sc. in Psychology and Sociology (Bath University, UK), a M.Sc. in Industrial/Occupational Psychology (Hull University, UK), a Masters in Social Work from McMaster University, and a M.A. in Counselling Psychology (Yorkville University, Fredericton, NB). She has several years experience as a Psychologist and Mental Health Specialist in Rehabilitation with the National Health Service, UK. She has been working with Kaplan and Levitt since 2000. Her work involves psychotherapy and assessment for treatment.

Wavie Johnson, M.Sc. , C.Psych.

Wavie Johnson is an experienced rehabilitation psychologist with a graduate degree in applied clinical psychology and more than 20 years experience in clinical and rehabilitation neuropsychology. She has worked with people who have been traumatically injured and those with progressive neurological disorders. Her work with Kaplan and Levitt Psychologists includes assessment and diagnosis  of clients injured in motor vehicle accidents, and treatment of cognitive, anxiety and mood disorders.

Sunil Kumar, Ph.D. , Registered Psychotherapist

Sunil Kumar is a Registered Psychotherapist with CRPO (reg. # 004863). He joined Kaplan and Levitt Psychologists in Nov. 2015 and provides assessment and treatment services to MVA (Auto insurance) and workplace injury patients (WSIB). He completed his M.A. (gold medalist) and M.Phil. in psychology at Kurukshetra University, followed by a Ph.D. in JNV University in India. He started his supervised practice in 2015 with Clear Path Solutions, Toronto. He has worked as Lecturer in Psychology at Lakehead University, Orillia Campus, and Assistant Professor of Organizational Behaviour and Human resources management at Gautam Buddha University in Greater Noida. He started his career as a Research Fellow (2005-2006) at Defence Research and Development Organization, Defence Lab. Jodhpur, India.

Dr. Melissa Parlar, Ph.D., C. Psych.

Dr. Parlar provides psychological and neuropsychological assessments and treatment, as well as psychological-legal assessment services at Kaplan and Levitt Psychologists. She obtained her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, with a specialization in Clinical Neuropsychology from York University. Prior to her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, she obtained a Ph.D. in Neuroscience at McMaster University. She completed her predoctoral residency at St. Joseph’s Healthcare, Hamilton. She has experience assessing and treating individuals with a wide range of psychological and neurological conditions.Dr. Parlar is registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She is authorized to provide Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology, and Rehabilitation Psychology services to adults and seniors.


Dr. Anthony (Tony) Hopley, Ph.D., C.Psych.

Dr. Hopley is a Clinical & Rehabilitation Psychologist (Ph.D., University of New Brunswick) currently expanding his practice to include Forensics. Dr. Hopley provides psychological services to incarcerated offenders, with a focus on facilitating societal reintegration. Further, Dr. Hopley is a consultant for Kaplan and Levitt Psychologists, performing disability assessments for personal injury claims and carrying out catastrophic impairment determination assessments. Finally, Dr. Hopley is a consulting Senior Clinician to the Homewood Health Return to Work Services Team, identifying factors influencing recovery and absence and the barriers to safe return to work following mental health issues.

Dr. Maria Armilio, Ph.D., C.Psych.

Dr. Maria Armilio provides psychological and neuropsychological assessment and treatment at Kaplan and Levitt Psychologists. She received her B.Sc.H. from Queen’s University and her M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Toronto, and conducted her graduate research at the Rotman Research Institute. She completed her predoctoral internship in clinical neuropsychology at Baycrest Centre for Geriatric Care. She completed her post-doctoral training with the Department of Psychology at the Credit Valley Hospital. Currently, Dr. Armilio is licensed with the Ontario College of Psychologists to practice in area of Clinical Neuropsychology with adult and geriatric populations.

Dharna Patel Psy.D.

Dharna Patel completed her M.A. and Psy.D., in Clinical Psychology at Alliant International University in San Francisco, California. She is registered as a Clinical Psychologist and currently under supervised practice. She joined Kaplan and Levitt Psychologists in May 2019 and provides assessment and treatment services to individuals primarily involved in motor vehicle accidents and workplace injury experiencing wide range of psychological challenges. She is experienced with trauma-informed care, mood & personality disorders, and helping individuals/patients’ overall psychological well being. She provides services in languages of English, Hindi, Gujarati, and Marathi.

Dr. Geoffrey Mok, Psy.D., C.Psych. (Supervised Practice)

Dr. Geoffrey Mok’s degree is in Clinical Psychology, with a specialization in Clinical Neuropsychology. Dr. Mok provides psychological and neuropsychological assessments and treatments for adults and seniors. He has completed clinical training rotations in various inpatient and outpatient settings, such as Meier Clinics in Wheaton, Illinois and the UBC Hospital Clinic for Alzheimer Disease and Related Disorders. Dr. Mok completed his doctoral internship at Correctional Services Canada, where he provided assessment and treatment services to incarcerated offenders with diverse cognitive and psychological needs.

Dr. Laurie Cestnick Ph.D., C.Psych. (Supervised Practice)

Dr. Laurie Cestnick provides psychological and neuropsychological assessment and treatment at Kaplan and Levitt Psychologists. She has almost twenty years experience working with children, adolescents, and adults, assessing developmental and acquired conditions. She completed her Ph.D. in psychology at Macquarie University in Australia, and is trained in both research (radiology at MGH, Harvard University and MIT) and clinical neuropsychology (Macquarie, Australia; Weaver Center, and Hallowell Center, USA). Her research has largely examined learning and neurodevelopmental disorders such as dyslexia, Autism, and ADHD, via behavioral and neuroimaging studies (fMRI and MEG), and she has extensive clinical experience working with these and additional populations such as those with concussion or brain injury. She also enjoys counseling and teaching.

Our Administrative Staff

Helena

Helena  obtained her Bachelor of Arts, with Honours, from the University of Waterloo. She subsequently earned a Masters of Arts in Sociology from McMaster University. She joined the Kaplan and Levitt team in 2015 and has since then has taken on a variety of tasks within the practice. Helena provides administrative assistance to the Director of Psychological-Legal Services. She works closely with the partners, legal representatives and patients to provide seamless and professional service. She provides a warm and caring atmosphere, and is often the first contact for people attending for psychological-legal assessments.

Elaine

Elaine graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Science degree. She is the administrative and systems manager at Kaplan and Levitt Psychologists. She is an integral part of the administrative team, coordinating most of the clinics systems. In doing so, she works closely with computer technicians, programmers and office partners. She provides technical support, organizes and supervises administrative activities, develops office procedures, ensures compliance of procedures, recruits administrative staff, orients and trains new employees and manages projects progress. She also liaises with clients, lawyers, insurers, health providers and vendors to help resolve various case related or general office issues.

Carla

Carla obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto and has been working at Kaplan Psychologists since 2002. She is the Clinical Intake Coordinator at the office. She receives and processes new clinical assessment and treatment referrals. She works closely with health care providers, insurers, legal representatives and patients to ensure patients obtain needed psychological services.

Carol

Carol comes to Kaplan and Levitt Psychologists with over 40 years in the accounting and invoicing fields. She graduated with an Honors Certificate from Mohawk College with a Computer Programming certificate for Micro Computers. Previously Carol worked for the Ministry of Health and has since applied her many talents to set up and organize the accounting and invoicing for Kaplan and Levitt.

Jennifer Dillane, M.Phil., M.Sc.
Registered Psychotherapist

Jennifer Dillane is a registered psychotherapist. She obtained her chartered status as a Forensic Psychologist in the UK in 2008. She completed an MPhil in Psychology (University of Glasgow) and an MSc in Criminological Psychology (University of Birmingham). She has worked at Kaplan and Levitt Psychologists since 2015. She undertakes assessments and treatment with adults and children, many of whom have suffered trauma. She has a particular interest in the treatment of trauma.
